New York City, September 6, 2025 — Love is in the air, and this time it’s sailing down the Hudson River. Daniel Neeson, the youngest son of Hollywood icon Liam Neeson and the late Natasha Richardson, has officially announced his engagement to longtime girlfriend Natalie Ackerman — and the internet is swooning.
A Proposal with Skyline Views
Daniel, 29, proposed to Natalie during a romantic sailboat cruise in New York City, with the Manhattan skyline and Statue of Liberty as their backdrop. The moment was captured in a series of stunning Instagram Stories, where Daniel captioned the scene simply: “Life is beautiful”.
Photos show Natalie visibly emotional as Daniel dropped to one knee, followed by a tight embrace and a dazzling engagement ring reveal. The couple, both dressed in crisp white, looked effortlessly chic as they celebrated with close friends at a cozy Manhattan restaurant later that evening.
From College Sweethearts to Forever
Daniel and Natalie met at Tulane University in New Orleans back in 2017 and have been inseparable ever since. While Daniel studied theater and digital media production, Natalie pursued business and now works as a fashion marketing manager in NYC.
In a heartfelt statement to PEOPLE, Daniel shared:
“I could write novels on why I love Natalie, but there’s something deeper, something so cosmic about our relationship… I see my mother in Nat, I see life in Nat, and reality just got a whole lot sweeter with a ring on it”.
Engagement Bash with a Personal Twist
The engagement party featured sliders, fries, champagne, and a floral-topped cake — plus a custom cocktail menu with drinks like the “Knit Nat Negroni” and “The Tulane Bombshell,” nodding to their college roots.
Daniel, who co-founded the eco-conscious clothing brand Pine Outfitters and tequila label De Nada, has often credited his father for being a supportive force in both life and business. Liam Neeson, meanwhile, is making headlines of his own with rumored romance buzz surrounding Baywatch star Pamela Anderson.
A Legacy of Love
Daniel’s proposal is a poignant milestone, especially given the loss of his mother Natasha Richardson in 2009. At just 12 years old, Daniel was thrust into the public eye under tragic circumstances. Today, his engagement marks a joyful new chapter — one that honors the past while embracing the future.
